The term handverziert states that the item was decorated by hand, just like the strongly related term handdekoriert; both are freely interchangable. Note that both can be used in the context of applying paint or glaze, but it should also be noted that decorating alone has multiple meanings. For example, it can also refer to Sgraffito, or the process of adding three-dimensional applications, such as prefabricated porcelain flowers.
