The term ehemals (abbreviated ehem.) and its related form vormals (abbreviated vorm.) are sometimes found as part of company names. Both represent forms of either "formerly known as" or "formerly owned by" and are completely interchangeable. They are still used today to introduce a name change for a factory or business, while retaining the well-known name of the predecessor for marketing and/or legal purposes.
