Mark View M090639

An eagle with orb and sceptre is of course often claimed to be either KPM Berlin or Porzellanfabrik Königszelt; those however both came with the initials "KPM". Other known users of such a mark were the Buckauer Porzellanmanufaktur, but they also used added initials ("BPM"). The version shown here is (as far as I know) never was positively identified and can also be found as impressed version, especially often on decorated porcelain plaques which come with the same nonsensical claims of manufacture.

A note on the weird letter at the side: many people believe that the crowned element shown are the ligated initials "L" and "R", however it is the capital letter "K" in German Humboldt-Fraktur lettering. The full name of this typeface is vital as Fraktur is the name of a whole font family whereas Humboldt-Fraktur is a specific type in that family. A crowned version of this weird letter is listed as mark family M100903.
