(abbreviated eGmbH) stands for eingetragene Genossenschaft mit beschränkter Haftung, a registered cooperative society with limited liability. Such cooperative societies are not very common in Germany as there are various other business forms there which better fit certain requirements, however they are also mentioned here as counterpart to the simpler form of Genossenschaft which is a business form often used in Switzerland.
Even if the abbreviation is quite similar, it should not be confused with the GmbH, a very common company form.
