I finally finished the generic information folder structure for use in the offline archive. It has been a real challenge, especially since I recently also created and roughly populated the Artists & Designers, Donut & Ring Marks and Canister Sets sections. Not forgetting the preliminary work for the planned new Unidentified & Misrepresented section which will be named Multiverse. While the regular sections contain manufacturer-related information, the now included generic folders provide additional (regional or location) padding, such as information on the development of Selb as an industrial hotspot. Long story short, after over a year and a half of hard work and setbacks, I am finally closing in on the finishing line.
And then everything went crazy because of the pandemic. I had just started working for a non-profit organisation when my inbox started filling up every day as lots of people were sitting at home trying to get things done. My limited free time was taken up with answering far more emails than usual.
Nevertheless, I completed the timeline of marks for factories such as Heinrich & Co. (Selb, Bavaria) and Gebrüder Heubach (Lichte, Thuringia). Such factories are only partially documented, often omitting entire mark types and focusing solely on the primary mark sets. This, of course, was time-consuming and stressful, as I had to manually go through all the information and track down the application and registry dates, as well as the registry numbers. I simply had to get them sorted out, as they were holding up my almost finished content streamlining.
