Coincidences are often too good to be true. The M240402 mark family is so similar to the M230107 mark family that it is safe to assume they come from the same source, especially since both were found on the same type of items. The plain fact is that no German producer ever used either of these marks. Admittedly, the shown mark could have been dictated by a distributor or retailer; however, that would have been a very modern one, as these items are covered in a dishwasher-safe glaze and therefore cannot be "antique" (as is sometimes claimed). These items should only ever be used for decorative purposes, as they could be contaminated with lead, mercury and cadmium, quite common with reproductions from the People's Republic of China.
