The House of Wettin was a dynasty of German kings, prince-electors, dukes, and counts that once ruled territories in the present-day German states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. So actually something with a nice ring to it. Items with shown mark are however roughly made, with cheap transfers and badly applied (transfer) gilding; not eactly what one would expect in this case. Collectors of Erdmann Schlegelmilch items may find these pointers infuriating, but just because a factory had a certain reputation never meant that they could not produce sub-par items. This mark has nothing to do with the Austrian "Royal Wettin" mark, M080601.
