Mark View M110406

A cover-up mark may hide some of the original producer's mark for various reasons. Cover-ups were commonly used by decoration studios, and also by retailers or souvenir shops, albeit not as often. Such marks are notoriously difficult to identify as registration of marks is not mandatory, and much information is lost over time.

This mark may be linked to M160808, even though they are only similar. When looking at lots of marks, patterns or clusters (often overlooked when looking at single marks only) may become apparent. And two unidentified, black-and-yellow, crowned, oval cover-up marks, both stating the same except for an alternating first name ? It may be nothing, but it is surely worth taking a mental note of.
