Crowned "BAVARIA" above the term "PIREN".
It is often claimed to be Seltmann Vohenstrauss, due to the similarity between the crowns. So far, I have not found out what the term "Piren" means in the context of German china. I have also not yet found a single Seltmann-marked "Piren" item, so I am inclined to agree with those who say this china is actually of Italian ("fake Bavaria") origin. This could be further supported by the overly elaborate decoration designs.
