Some people have suggested that these items, all of which can be dated to 1970 or later, were manufactured by the Kronester company from Schwarzenbach. Indeed, traces of the original Kronester factory mark can still be seen on some items, while others still bear Lorenz Hutschenreuther (Selb) marks. This alone refutes the theory that Kronester was the factory behind the Luisenburg mark, as they never redecorated or rebranded items in this way.

A few items bearing the Luisenburg mark from before 2000 feature designs by the artist Barbara Fürstenhöfer, who created plate designs for several manufacturers, including Kronester, Lang, the Schirnding AG, SMF Schramberg, and the Anton Weidl decoration studio in Bayreuth. The Luisenburg brand disappeared for a few years before re-emerging in 2000 as a registered trademark of Retsch Arzberg (formerly based in Wunsiedel).
