Contrary to popular belief, there were never any china factories located in this town - only showrooms and trading agents, for obvious reasons. Using the name was merely a matter of prestige and marketing, as the spa attracted royalty and other influential people.
The different spellings "KARLSBAD" and "CARLSBAD" are, of course, interchangeable.
