Vocabulary:

Ostalgie is a word game and describes the sudden occuring nostalgia related with East German products after German reunification. First only held for a short-lived hype, the last 15 years have proven the critics wrong.

The term itself is based on the German word for 'nostalgia' (Nostalgie) of which the first letter is ommitted, resulting in Ost (the German term for 'East') as suffix, so the term can be literally be translated as 'east-algia'.
