The term Nachfahren can be found in some company names and means 'descendants', which indicates a change of proprietors without changing the former proprietors business name. This form is used when the new proprietor stood in a family relationship with the former owner. Sometimes you may also find the term Erben used instead and in cases where the successor did not stand in a family relationship with the former owner (like a completely other family or business), the term Nachfolger is used.
